Hanging with the Gods on Mount Olympus

This 13 mile day began bright and early with a 2 hour bus ride from our school to reach the mountains and our guide. Once we arrived, we were able to visit a monastery of St. Dionysios that was originally built in 1542. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take pictures within the church, but it was absolutely stunning within. There were very few rows of pews, one of the largest chandeliers I will probably ever see, and beautiful paintings in gold frames. Below, I have included photos of the outside walls of the monastery.

The entrance to the church was the the left of the small fountain and around the corner.

And now we are off to begin our hike!!

The views from this hike were absolutely stunning and it was an adventure I would absolutely love to take again. Following the hike, we walked into town to find our bus. Along the way, we ran into.....

A herd of hungry goats and...

Their vicious protector :)

Once we reached the bus, we were taken to a beach bar called "Molis Stin Paralia" in Litochoro, Greece where we did some serious refueling with food, drinks, and a quick swim.

A view of the beach

"Toto, we aren't on the Mississippi anymore"

I still have dreams about this burger lol

Kat enjoying the beach and her sangria :)

Thank you for following me on our first trip! Next up is Athens :)
